Maha Mrityunjay Jaap

Understand the great meaning of these words.

Maha (महा): This translates to “great” or “grand.”

Mrityu (मृत्यु): This translates to “death.”

Jaya (जय): This translates to “victory” or “conquest.”

Jaap (जप): This translates to “chant” or “recitation.”

The literal meaning is the great chant of victory over death.

The Maha Mrityunjaya Jaap appears in the Rigveda, one of the oldest Hindu scriptures.

It’s also known as the Tryambakam Mantra, referring to the three-eyed form of Lord Shiva, the deity associated with this mantra.

Baba said: Blessed is he who knows the greatness of his Guru and thinks him to be Hari (Lord Vishnu), Hara (Lord Shiva) and Lord Brahma (Trimurti) Incarnate. Shri Sai Charitra – Chapter 18 & 19

Those who want to do this great chant in the Temple may refer to Pooja services. The amount can be divided between your family and friends who may want to join you to feed devotees.

Bow to Shri Sai – Peace be to all
